Andrew Parkin

Andrew specialises in holistic, pragmatic acoustic design. He joined Cundall in October 2010 from an international multi-disciplinary practice and leads Cundall’s Acoustics division. He has 20 years’ experience in Acoustics, having managed and worked on a diverse spread of projects across many sectors. He is best known for his practical approach to Building Acoustics, offering clients technically excellent, cost efficient solutions to Acoustic design. He is a highly experienced conference speaker, having been invited to present papers both in the UK and internationally. In addition to spoken presentations, he has written many technical and non-technical articles for diverse publications.

Andrew sits on a number of committees, including the Institute of Acoustics’ Building Acoustics Group and Association of Noise Consultants’ Schools Committee (of which he was Chair); he also sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Noise Consultants, where he is the Immediate Past Chair. He has sat on committees and working groups for DCSF Building Bulletins 93 and 101 and regularly acts in a consultancy capacity to the Department for Education. He has been instrumental in the rewriting and editing of the DfE replacement for BB93 and the re-write of guidance sections. Andrew has been instrumental in setting up the annual ANC Awards event, celebrating excellence in Acoustic design.
