Chris Martin
Director, Human Resources,
Chris is an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional with 20+ years in the HR field. His diverse HR industry pedigree has been in the advertising/marketing, entertainment/media, financial services, legal and governmental spheres. Now working at IWBI, Chris is adding wellness to his growing list of industry experience.
In his role as Director, Human Resources, Chris’ servant leadership style compliments and aligns well with IWBI’s people-first ethos. Covering a variety of HR-related specialties such as employee relations, employee engagement, and performance management, and as a business partner to leaders, Chris keeps sight of employees and their needs.
As a progressive leader, Chris recognizes there is value in having great resources. As such, he’s been a national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and local NYC SHRM member for 10+ years. These resources and other HR professional groups are some of the ways he maintains his knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and employee and organizational needs that change because of the economy and other factors. Chris was asked to serve as a Co-Education Lead for the NYC SHRM digital conference in 2020-2021, where he was recognized for his outstanding contributions towards the success of that 3-day online HR conference.
Before joining IWBI, Chris worked at Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham (SRDABD), a boutique entertainment law firm. Prior to that, Chris spent 11 years at Serino Coyne, an advertising/marketing agency.
In addition to earning his MBA Chris recognizes the importance of emotional intelligence and supporting relationships within an organization, which is one of the reasons why he is passionate about DEI.
In his spare time, Chris loves tennis (watching & playing), outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with his family. His convivial nature, openness, and willingness to have a conversation are hallmarks of some of his strengths as an HR professional.
