Joyce leads the Integrative Design Services group at Forest City Realty Trust, a team of engineers, architects and technical specialists who collaborate with asset managers, developers and the architectural community to identify best practices and standards for new construction design, sustainable programs, facilities engineering and building systems. After graduating from The Ohio State University with an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree, Joyce began her professional career with the CNG Companies, learning energy and utilities as a trade. She was conferred the Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Akron. After a twelve-year career with CNG, she left to join a capital venture firm, and served as Vice President of Public Relations, concentrating on permitting and regulatory affairs in the power industry. She then pursued her interests in the energy arena as “end user”, leading supply and demand side strategies at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and currently works for Forest City with executive accountability to core company values such as Sustainability, Health & Wellness Alignment of Talent and Operational Excellence. She is certified as a LEED AP with the USGBC and has studied Negotiations at Harvard Law School. She serves as an Advisory committee member of the Real Estate Roundtable, USGBC Real Estate Group and as Board Member for the Institute for Market Transformation. She does frequent public speaking, and recently published her first book on first-year career experiences and career planning called First Job, A Career Guide for College Graduates. . With a passion for heath and wellness in the building industry and as a Bed & Breakfast Operator of Fitzwater House Brecksville Reserve, Joyce seeks to educate other Hosts on providing a WELL Experience for guests at her sites @WellHosts on Twitter and Healthy Daily Recommit on Facebook.
