Ken Fong
Senior Acoustics & WELL Consultant
Ken is an experienced acoustic consultant, having over 10 years of design experience over a wide range of sectors including industrial, transportation, commercial, education, environmental noise and government.
Ken also provides WELL consultancy to projects seeking to achieve WELL accreditation and is actively involved in industry speaking and education engagements related to acoustics, WELL and building design.
Ken is a WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP), achieving this accreditation in October 2016. Ken is also a member of the WELL Faculty in Australia, actively involved in providing education to the industry about the benefits of adopting WELL principles into projects as part of good holistic design. Ken is also a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineering of Queensland (RPEQ), acting as the technical sign-off for major projects in Queensland.
Ken chairs Arup Melbourne’s Wellness committee and is focused on transforming the health and wellbeing of all Arup Melbourne staff. Ken is also part of the Regional Australasia Wellness group through his role as Melbourne chair.
Ken is the Arup Australasia Research Manager, coordinating all acoustics, audio visual and vibration research activities within the region and with global research efforts. He is particularly interested in research that integrates acoustics with other spheres of design such as social network analytics, indoor environment quality, human centered design and data visualization.
