Katie Davis
Vice President, Engineering Residential HVAC & Supply at Trane Technologies
Katie is the Vice President of Engineering and Technology for Residential HVAC & Supply at Trane Technologies. She champions strategy and execution for all new product development, new technology development and engineering and technical support of service and aftermarket parts for the Trane Residential product portfolio. Katie leads a diverse team of engineers and scientists in the development of product design strategies that maximize customer value.
Katie has held a variety of leadership roles within Trane Technologies. Prior to her current role, Katie was the Vice President of Engineering Excellence in which she championed the development of engineering excellence strategy to enable effective execution of product development, optimized internal cycle time and speed to market. She also served as a Business and IT Director in support of the enterprise implementation of Oracle R12, and the Director of Engineering for Trane Commercial Systems, leading engineering teams in multiple locations across the United States. She has been a part of Trane Technologies since 2006.
Prior to joining Trane Technologies, Katie supported the Department of Defense as a Weld Subject Matter Expert (SME), and she began her career with Bechtel National, Inc. as a mechanical engineer supporting nuclear environmental remediation.
Katie is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. She is a member of the Leadership Academy Advisory Board for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Vice Chair of the Mercer University National Engineering Advisory Board. In 2005, Katie was recognized by the United States Air Force as the Federal Engineer of the Year and served as an American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector in criminal investigations involving the Office of Special Investigations for the Air Force. She was awarded the National Association of Manufacturers 2015 STEP Ahead Award for Women in Manufacturing and served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Engineering Education Foundation of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mercer University and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
