As former Chairman of the Sustainability Committee for the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA), I also enjoyed an unprecedented position as an integral member of a strategic master-planning team for the private development company Amdec. Overseeing design development of a 19ha new urbanist & mixed-use precinct, I then led the development team to deliver the first Green Star Rated Multi-Unit Residential Development in South Africa.

Working alongside the Green Building Council of South Africa during this time, I had the privilege of assisting them in developing their ‘Multi-Unit Residential Development Tool’, ‘Sustainable Precincts’ Tool’ and ‘Socio-economic’ category, which was absorbed by the World Green Building Council.

My work resulted in many presentations at Green Building Council Conventions, Sustainability conferences and radio interviews.

With this incredible experience I then returned home to the UK to seek additional ways to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and, to find opportunities to further my exposure and skills in an area that serves to provide both passion and purpose.

Subsequently, I have become a registered RIBA Client Adviser, EcoDistrict and WELL Accredited Professional, and combined with my specialised Design Development and architectural experience.

I provide a unique perspective of Client, Developer, Design Team Professional, Consultant and End-user and I believe my strategic guidance and insight in to the world of the built environment, assists in disseminating the business imperative of implementing WELL to enhance the Triple Bottom Line and create prosperity for all.
