Elicia Ratajczyk, PhD

Research Scientist/Scholar II

I am a Project Manager and Researcher at the Institute for the Built Environment (IBE) at Colorado State University. In addition, I am an affiliated faculty member of the Sociology Department and CSU’s Richardson Design Center.

I completed my PhD in Environmental Social Science with a concentration in Complex Adaptive Systems Science at Arizona State University in 2018. I also have a previous Masters in Architecture with graduate certificates in Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Systems and Historic Preservation, and a Bachelors in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado.

My work focuses on community-engaged and co-created applied research on the dynamics of social-ecological-technological systems and how people work together within these systems to solve problems and meet their collective needs. This sometimes involves group facilitation, the science of team science, social and multiplex network analysis, systems mapping, content analyses, surveys, and the use of other types of tools and frameworks for understanding these complex and interdependent systems.
