Max Kiefer

Director of Sustainability

Max Kiefer is the Director of Sustainability at Wynd and is based in Oakland California. Wynd focuses on Air Quality Monitoring, Purification Technologies, and Sustainability Certifications.

Prior to Wynd Max was Director of Project Management at CBRE. Where he developed and staffed projects in Construction and Move Management for a five thousand person team. Most of his background was at Healthy Buildings International prior to being acquired by UL. In Max time he added more Indoor Environmental Quality projects for Sustainability Certifications than the company had seen in the previous thirty years history of the company. As well as added service offerings under Energy, Indoor Air Quality, Water and Sustainability as well as first company projects in South America, Africa, and Asia. Max started his career at CoStar Group and his research contributed to the first Do Green Buildings Make Sense working paper.

Max was educated at the University of Colorado with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, Leading Innovation. As well as a bachelor’s from the University of Colorado In Business Administration and Management. During his time there, he was a Teaching Lead for a Business Class including a presentation to a 1000-person lecture and Published Author of Business Textbook: Patagonia/Profiles in American Enterprise. As well as attending Semester at Sea Study Program - 2003 Brazil, Cuba, Africa, India, Korea, and Japan. He is actively engaged in IWBI, NRDC, ULI, BOMA, and USGBC, and a Founding member of the Building Health Initiative.
