MaryAnn Sorensen Allacci

MaryAnn Sorensen Allacci has expertise in community-based research with a focus on policies and practices that promote sustainable affordable housing, healthy environments, and social justice and equity. Dr. Sorensen Allacci has worked for more than 25 years to advance the well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly low-income people of color, individuals with disabilities, and homeless persons. She is an experienced Project Manager and designer of research protocol on multiple community-related grants including HUD, ATSDR, Trust for Public Land, and the US Department of Energy. Currently she teaches affordable/sustainable housing, green buildings, social equity, evidence-based design, and Environment and Behavior for designers.
