Kavita Kumari

Associate

Kavita prides herself on being at the forefront of sustainability, specifically wellbeing and the integration of innovative principles in the built environment. At Cundall, she is an Associate in the health, wellbeing and sustainability team and a WELL AP, belonging to the WELL Faculty programme. She is amongst the first global cohort of Accredited Professional (AP) trained in the WELL Building Standard®, and provides support to the industry as a WELL Faculty member and led and delivered the first WELL certified buildings in UK/Europe/MENA. She was also recently awarded the 2019 WELL Faculty Award and 2020 WELL Community Award.

Kavita has over 20 years’ experience in integrated building design, working on a range of projects as both a mechanical design engineer and sustainability consultant, and works proactively within all of Cundall’s project teams, nationally and internationally. She is also a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist and has knowledge of both local and International sustainable green building standards and practices;she is a Fellow of CIBSE and BRE, and a registered Low Carbon Consultant. She is part of the BRE Strategic Ecology Framework working group which dictates the Ecology criteria for BREEAM. Her passion for leveraging medical insights and new technologies to enhance human experience and wellbeing and extensive research into green & healthy materials, natural and human centric lighting, indoor air & water quality, occupant comfort, smart technology and biophilia has given her profound insight to understanding health & wellbeing drivers.

As well as leading on the sustainable development offering for Cundall, she is first and foremost a building services engineer, providing sustainable design solutions for a range of local and international commercial developments for diverse clients. She strives to make significant contributions and positive impacts in the areas of sustainability, health and wellbeing and innovation within the corporate offices and co-working spaces through my technical involvement on projects and by sharing my experiences to advance the future of the industry. This supports her sustainability advice enabling projects to commence with a solid foundation for successful delivery and to improve human health and wellbeing through the built environment.
