Jodi van der Wiel, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, FITWEL

Jodi van der Wiel is the Director of Design Leadership with Vocon, a global architecture and interior design practice with offices in Cleveland and New York. She is a registered architect, certified in interior design, an accredited professional for both LEED and WELL sustainable rating platforms, and a Fitwel Ambassador. Discovering project drivers with strategy and research, van der Wiel’s human-centric approach aligns wellness with client mission and culture, demonstrating the positive power of architecture on behavior with model results in healthcare, education, and agile global workplace environments. Her work has been widely recognized with 46 design honors: 18 AIA awards, national NOMA honors, IIDA recognition, trade awards, and design commendations by the City of Cleveland.

Making a deeply rooted impact on Cleveland’s renaissance, van der Wiel has invested nineteen years of service on design review, raising public awareness on the role of the architect, design-thinking, and the power of wellness in the built environment. A champion for equity, diversity, and inclusivity, she currently serves on the national Equity and the Future of Architecture Committee for the American Institute of Architects.
