Mona Naqvi

Founder & Partner, The Market Futurist

Mona Naqvi is a capital markets futurist and thought leader at the intersection of finance, sustainability and technology. A former central bank economist and architect of the first sustainable variant of the S&P 500 Index, she has played a key role in integrating environmental and social considerations into mainstream investing. Her work explores how financial markets undervalue sustainability risks and opportunities, exposing inefficiencies in capital allocation and systemic short-termism. A published author and regular market commentator on Bloomberg and CNBC, she examines how climate change, AI and global disruptions are reshaping finance and investment strategy.

Previously, Mona served as an economist at the Bank of England, advised the Obama Administration on climate and energy policy and led research on market inefficiencies at a climate finance think tank. At S&P Global, she led the sustainable capital markets group, founded the S&P Investor Council and worked to align institutional capital with long-term sustainability goals. She has also run for public office in the UK, advocating for economic resilience and climate-focused policy reform.

A frequent speaker at global forums and investment summits, Mona engages with investors, policymakers and business leaders on the financial materiality of sustainability.

Through her work, she challenges conventional risk assessments, highlights the economic implications of climate change and advances new approaches to long-term value creation in an era of rapid change.
