Enterprise Professor Jane Burns is a global leader in mental health, wellbeing and suicide prevention, with over 20 years of C-suite and governance experience across the NGO, government, industry and academic sectors. Currently the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at Allara Learning Group and an Enterprise Professor at the University of Melbourne, Jane is a pioneer in digital innovation and workforce wellbeing. Her career is defined by a commitment to co-design, ensuring the voices of individuals with lived experience are integrated into strategic planning, program implementation and national policy.

A seasoned governance professional and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Jane has held transformative leadership roles with beyondblue, the Inspire Foundation and the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre. Her current board portfolio includes roles with Accoras, specializing in mental health care and CVGT Employment, focusing on disability employment services. These roles build upon her extensive governance history, which includes serving as Chair of Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling and STREAT, as well as her prior service on the Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

As Chair of the Night Time Industries Association, a strategic advisor to the International Well Building Institute and Humn and a Non-Executive Director of the Applied Positive Psychology Learning Institute, Jane continues to drive initiatives that empower communities and organizations. Her personal experiences as a mother of three, including her son Angus, who lives with Down syndrome and Autism, inspire her lifelong commitment to inclusivity and compassionate care.
