Zdravko Trivic

Assistant Professor

Zdravko Trivic is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore, teaching and researching under the Urbanism Research Cluster, with active involvement as Principal Investigator and Committee Member at CARE (Center for Ageing Research in the Environment), CSAC (Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities) and DRIA (Designing Resilience in Asia), SDE, NUS. His key research interests include: multi-sensorial urbanism, health-supportive and ageing-friendly design; urban spaces in high-density environments; arts and public space, placemaking, neighbourhood planning and participatory design. His current research projects include: “Arts and Culture Nodes in the Heartlands of Singapore” (PI; 2016-2018, NAC), “Multi-Sensory Approach to Ageing-friendly Design” (PI; 2017-2019; MOE AcRF,), “Designing Future-ready and Sustainable Nursing Homes” (Co-PI; 2017-2020; L2NIC, URA and MOHH) and “Pedestrian Comfort in High Pedestrian Activity Areas” (Co-PI; 2017-2019; L2NIC, URA). His key recent publications include: book RE-FRAMING URBAN SPACE (Routledge, 2016; co-authored with Cho I. S. & Heng C. K.), book chapter “Bringing Arts Closer to Local Communities” (in Hoong & Malone-Lee, Eds., Springer, 2018 – forthcoming), and 2 journal articles in Journal of Urban Design (2017 and 2015). He received 2 outstanding paper awards at the UIA 2017 Seoul World Architects Congress.
