Troy Virgo

Troy Virgo is Director of Sustainability and Product Stewardship for Shaw Industries Inc., headquartered in Dalton, GA. Troy leads the team with primary responsibility for product regulatory compliance and third party product and Eco-Label performance certifications for all Shaw’s products. He is involved in all Shaw’s sustainability efforts and external communications efforts, including their annual GRI reporting. He is also responsible for Shaw’s carbon footprint management and reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project.

Troy has been at Shaw for 22 years. Prior to his current position, he was in positions of increasing responsibility for environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for all Shaw’s manufacturing and distribution operations.

Troy is a member of several trade association committees and work groups, certification body committees, and technical standards development bodies.

Troy has a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Auburn University. Prior to attending college, Troy served five years as a Marine Engineer in the British Army. He became a U.S. citizen in 2005. When not working on stewardship issues for Shaw and the flooring industry, he is likely to be cycling up and down the hills and mountains of North Georgia.
