Director of Research and Knowledge Management

Susan Chung, Ph.D., is the director of research and knowledge management at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) where she leads the research agenda to empower interior designers with evidence-based solutions that improves human experiences. She manages and conducts research projects that investigate the impact of design, translates research on current interior design issues into applicable design implications, heads the ongoing post-occupancy research for the ASID HQ office, the world’s first LEED-Platinum and WELL-Platinum certified office space serving as a living laboratory, and presents research to various audiences. She comes from an interior design and behavioral research background and investigated ergonomics and other design attributes related to creativity in workplace environments for her doctorate degree in Human Behavior and Design at Cornell University.
