Research Associate & Knowledge Translation Specialist
Soultana is the Research Associate and Knowledge Translation Specialist at the Centre for Active Living housed within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation at the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada. She completed her PhD at McGill University where she worked in partnership with the Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Project, located on the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake. Using principles of community-based participatory research approach, she mobilized and engaged key school and community stakeholders to develop active transportation programming for two local elementary schools. Within the Centre for Active Living, Soultana continues to support health promotion research in within Alberta, nationally, and internationally. Notable projects include, the Alberta Survey on Physical Activity, and the 2019 ParticipACTION Report Card on Physical Activity for Adults.
