Pawel Wargocki
Associate Professor
Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark; Past President of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate. Previously, he served as Chair of ASHRAE Environmental Health Committee and the Position Document Committee, Vice President of Indoor Air 2008 Conference, Secretary of Academy of Indoor Air Sciences, and incoming Director of the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy. Pawel is an indoor climate scientist and expert, teacher at undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. level courses, and supervises several Ph.D. and numerous M. Sc. students. His research has influenced development of indoor air sciences because of his studies on the effects of indoor environment on mental performance, on office work by adults and on schoolwork by children.
Pawel has carried out numerous laboratory chamber experiments with human subjects (equivalent to >5,000 subject hours) and field experiments (in >100 buildings). He has experience in numerous measuring techniques involving physico-chemical, subjective, physiological and cognitive measurements. He also has leadership and management experience by leading national and international research projects, and international committees, and by sitting on the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards. He organized national and international conferences and courses and has raised (>USD2,000k) through applications for research, stipends for guest researchers, and travel scholarships. He also has collaborated extensively with other research institutions, universities and with practice.
Pawel is an evaluator of national and international research grants and a reviewer for leading international peer-reviewed journals. He serves as am Advisory Board Member of Building and Environment (IF=3.34) and Regional Editor for Europe of Indoor and Built Environment (IF=1.23). Pawel has published extensively (h-index=31, Google Scholar) and received
several awards for his achievements.
He is fluent in Polish (native language), English and Danish. Pawel is married with two children
