Kristen Salinas

Senior Sustainability Consultant

Kristen Salinas is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at NORESCO. She has over 12 years of sustainable design experience in a wide range of building sectors, including aviation. Prior to her sustainability career, Kristen worked as a civil engineer designing roadways, utilities, and stormwater management solutions for master planned developments. She has managed over 80 LEED projects, several Green Globes certifications, and has started implementing WELL features on current projects. She specializes in site planning, water and wastewater innovations, habitat conservation, and materials selection. Kristen is a WELL Accredited Professional, earning her credential in 2018.

Her airport experience includes several projects at LAX including the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Star Alliance Lounge, sustainable design assistance for Kuala Lumpur International Airport Master Site, as well as the recent Federal Inspection Services facility at San Diego International Airport. Kristen also championed a LEED Platinum certification for the San Diego Airport Terminal 2 Green Build project.

Kristen enjoys giving back to the AEC community by volunteering as a mentor to high school students interested in the construction industry through the ACE Mentor Program. She has also held multiple leadership positions in the Society for Women Engineers. One of her greatest achievements is earning a graduate degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University in 2014.
