Kristen Day

Professor and Associate Dean

Kristen Day is Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Administration at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. She oversees Faculty Affairs for the School of Engineering. Previously, she was a Professor in urban planning at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Day is an expert in urban planning strategies that promote equity and well-being. Her research examines urban design strategies to increase health in cities. Her current research focuses on the impacts of air pollution on people’s every day lives in China. Dr. Day’s research has been supported by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the National Institutes of Mental Health, the California State Department of Transportation, and others. Previous leadership positions include university-wide director of community engagement at UC Irvine, Chair of the Environmental Design Research Association, and fellow of the American Council on Education.
