Joel Todd

Joel Ann Todd has almost 30 years of experience in green buildings and building materials, beginning in 1989 with AIA’s Environmental Resource Guide. Joel served as Vice Chair of USGBC’s Technical and Scientific Advisory Committee, and as Vice Chair and then Chair of the LEED Steering Committee. She also served on USGBC’s Education Steering Committee and currently Co-Chairs USGBC’s Social Equity Working Group. She was a contributing author for USGBC’s Better Building Materials: Understanding Human Health and Environmental Attributes. In 2015, Joel joined the staff of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative, as Technical and Education Director. She is responsible for technical aspects of the HPD Open Standard, including language in the Instructions, the reporting Format, and supplemental guidance on topics such as using HPDs in LEED. She also was responsible for organizing HPDC’s volunteer technical committee structures, including technical sub-groups, and continues to support these groups through facilitation of conference calls, drafting of materials for review, and producing final versions of documents. She prepared a Guide for project teams on HPDs and has given educational programs on transparency and HPDs.
