Eva-Lena Carlén-Johansson

Manager for Sustainability Programs

Since 2007, Eva-Lena has been working at Skanska, a Swedish project development and Construction company which is one of the world’s largest. She is working as Manager for Sustainability Programs.

Responsibilities include multiple activities related to the Skanska Sustainability Areas i.e. annual Green reporting, leading on ISO 14001, focus area materials (waste and hazardous), Green IT, Safety communication and the annual worldwide Skanska Safety Week. She is leading the work for Health and Well-being. She is the company contact point for UN Global Compact Nordic Network and ChemSec Business Group.

Eva-Lena started her professional career as a Nurse in various medical settings. Career changed towards Sustainability when starting with Baxter in 1996, a global US based Healthcare Company. From 2001 with a dual responsibility as the Environmental, Health and Safety Business Manager for the Nordic region and the Global Project Manager for material compliance for packaging related to the EU producer responsibility. Other work included developing global strategies and solutions as part of Baxter product stewardship program. She was the company representative in the European Medical Device industry association EUCOMED and in the Swedish Pharmaceutical association LIF.

Eva-Lena is married, with a son and a daughter, who both are having families on their own and she enjoys the family growing with the arrival of several grandchildren in the last years. One of her main interests is sailing in the beautiful archipelago of Stockholm.
