Emily is passionate about the human experience and helping organizations understand how to support their human capital investment. With over a decade of work experience in human resources and organizational strategy prior to joining Herman Miller, Emily continues to facilitate thought on policies and procedures in tandem with the physical environment. She is a trusted advisor, working with clients to create bespoke workplace strategies and implement the approach successfully.

Emily has conducted graduate level research within the field of environmental psychology with a specific focus on understanding individual needs based on task, personality type and the architectural elements of the space. Her previous experience includes biotech, pharma, technology and financial industries, including strategic planning for large and small-scale collocation projects within the media industry. Her experience also includes an emphasis on flexible real estate solutions and support for the entrepreneurial community.

Areas of expertise include workplace strategy, qualitative and quantitative research, program development and implementation, workshop facilitation, change management and change communications. She is also a certified Prosci Change Practitioner.

Emily holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, an MBA from Owen’s Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Environmental Psychology from Cornell University. She is an active member on the leadership team of Workplace Evolutionaries, a Community of IFMA and a 2020 Member of the IWBI Sound Concept Advisory.
