Chad Groshart

Associate Director

Chad Groshart, IALD, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP is an Associate Director and Global Lighting Practice Leader with Atelier Ten, an international Environmental design consulting firm. Mr. Groshart, has extensive experience with high performance lighting design for healthcare and institutional projects both in the US and overseas. He is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, Illuminating Engineering Society of North America and is Lighting Certified (LC) by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. Chad is also an IALD representative to the ASHRAE/ IES 90.1 committee. He holds a Masters in Architectural Lighting Design from Parson’s the New School for Design in New York and is an adjunct instructor in that program. In 2016,2017 and 2018 Chad donated, delivered and installed solar lighting systems in rural Haiti with grad students from Parson’s on La Gonave in Haiti.

Chad has been involved with the WELL Standard since before it was released. He has been a peer reviewer, a WELL AP test question writer and is currently WELL Faculty and is part of the WELL Advisory on Lighting. His project experience includes a WELL Platinum/LEED V4 Platinum office building in New York City, and several large WELL Silver projects in the Bay Area.

WHY I JOINED THE WELL COMMUNITY
As a lighting and daylighting designer, the standard’s focus on visual quality is much needed.

WHAT WELLNESS MEANS TO ME
By spending at least a week at sea each year, away from land racing sailboats.
