Amanda Robinson

Co-CEO

Amanda Robinson is co-CEO of Australian and Asia based operations at the acoustic consultancy, Marshall Day Acoustics. The company is a global leader in its field.

Specialising in building and room acoustics, Amanda is a professionally qualified mechanical engineer who has worked in the field of acoustics since 1996. She has had extensive experience working with multidisciplinary practices, both in Australia and the UK, working on complex building projects with an emphasis on the education and performing arts sectors.

Amanda is associated with the Victorian division of the Australian Acoustic Society, and held the position of Secretary for four years. Prior to that, she was Secretary for the Association of Noise Consultants in the UK.

She is a passionate ambassador for creating acoustic environments which support healthy communities through inclusive design. She is frequently invited to present at building and design industry events, including the Talking Spaces Symposium held by the University of Melbourne. She is also leading Marshall Day Acoustics’ involvement in the Innovative Learning Environments Research Project, run by the University of Melbourne and funded by the Australian Research Council. The project aims to work with schools, government and industry to analyse the relationships between quality teaching and effective use of innovative learning environments. The new understanding gained through the project is expected to guide developments in pedagogy, policy and design and to produce strategies to improve learning in schools across Australia and New Zealand.
